Lavender & Blueberry Smoothie

Hot Weather calls for refreshing smoothies! Why not adding a bit of lavender flowers to savour the taste of summer at it’s fullest. This easy recipe can be enjoyed by the whole family. Adjust the ingredients as you please and Enjoy!

TIPS:

-to grind lavender use a mortar and pestle or a clean coffee grinder.

-to infuse honey with lavender place 3 TBSP of lavender buds in a jar and add 1 cup of liquid honey. Mix the buds and honey together, close the jar and let it infuse over the course of 2 full weeks. Keep the jar away from sunlight and rotate the jar top to bottom once per day.

-Avoid using too much lavender buds as it may add a bitter taste to your smoothie. Alternatively you can substitute lavender buds and honey for 2-3 TBSP of lavender syrup.

INGREDIENTS:

-2 cups of coconut milk (or any milk alternative of your choice)

-1 cup of frozen blueberries

-2 TBSP honey or lavender infused honey

-1 tsp finely ground lavender buds

DIRECTIONS:

-blend all ingredients, garnish with fresh blueberries and enjoy!!
